Sean Malone
Sean Malone is the Director of Federal Affairs at The New England Council. Based in the Council’s Boston office, Sean is the primary staff liaison to the Council’s Healthcare and Energy & Environment Committees, working with members in these sectors on advocacy, programming, and projects.
Sean joined the Council in June 2017 from the Office of U.S. Representative Joseph Kennedy III (D-MA), where he worked for four and a half years, most recently serving as the Congressman’s Economic Development Liaison. In this role, he was responsible for identifying and developing relationships with key stakeholders in the 4th Congressional district, including businesses, statewide officials, and community leaders. Sean organized collaborative economic development projects throughout the district, as well as interpreted and explained federal statutes and policies to businesses, organizations, and constituents.
Prior to joining Congressman Kennedy’s office, Sean served as a Special Assistant to U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) and U.S. Senator Paul Kirk (D-MA), where he coordinated events and conducted extensive community outreach.
A native of Middlefield, CT, Sean graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Political Science and in International Relations. Sean currently resides in Newburyport, MA.
