Mariah Healy
Mariah Healy is the Director of Federal Affairs at The New England Council. Based in the Council’s Washington, DC office, Mariah is the primary staff liaison to the Council’s Higher Education Committee and Technology & Innovation Working Group, working with members in these sectors on advocacy, programming, and projects.
Mariah joined the Council in June 2022 from Council for a Strong America, most recently serving as the Associate Director of Federal Policy. In this role, she was responsible for advocating on behalf of retired admirals and generals, business leaders, and law enforcement leaders on Capitol Hill. Her focus was issues of early childhood education, nutrition security and equitable access to childcare. Mariah was also the lead on issues of Diversity and Inclusion.
Prior to joining Council for a Strong America, Mariah was a Tufts University Tisch Summer Fellow for Civic Life with the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development for the State of Massachusetts. She served as a Legislative and Policy Fellow under Secretary Jay Ash.
A native of Potomac, MD, Mariah holds a BA from College of the Holy Cross with a degree in Political Science and an MA from Tufts University with a degree in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning. She defended a thesis on the Prescription Monitoring Program as it relates to physicians and opioid prescribing practices in the Boston area. Mariah currently resides in Washington, DC.
