WPI receives grant from U.S. Department of Education to boost diversity among biology researchers
Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a member of the New England Council, has received a $900K grant from the U.S. Department of Education to finance fellowships for graduate students studying to become researchers and educators in cell and molecular biology,
Through the program, this grant will be released over the course of the next three years, funding eight doctoral students studying in the fields of molecular biology, cell biology, and microbiology within the university’s Department of Biology and Biotechnology.
“WPI has opened so many doors for Massachusetts students interested in science and technology, and this grant will enable them to build on their powerfully important work,” said U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren in a press release.
The New England Council congratulates WPI on this new opportunity to support students in the field of biology.
