Veolia Breaks Ground on New State-of-the-Art Hazardous Waste Facility
This month, New England Council member, Veolia, began work on a new thermal hazardous waste treatment operation. The new treatment plant, located in Gum Springs, Arkansas will help environmental preservation and provide an investment in the local community.
Veolia’s new plant will set a new industry standard for waste treatment by protecting air quality and other natural resources. Technology introduced in this new project will include a system to capture waste heat in order to power the plant. Once completed the plant will treat over 100,000 tons of waste per year. Following the completion of the plant, the economic expansion provided by the new facility will double the number of employees and provide up to $1 billion in economic investments in the community.
CEO Fred Van Heems said, “Veolia is committed to solving great environmental challenges so we can leave a better planet for our children.”
The New England Council would like to commend Veolia for its commitment to environmental protection.
