Unum receives American Heart Association leadership award
New England Council member Unum Group was presented with the American Heart Association’s Regional Corporate Leadership award for its efforts to support the Association’s work across the state of Maine. Among the honorees was Mike Simonds, President and CEO of Unum, Nicole Nappi, Unum’s quality auditor for group underwriting, and Elizabeth DiSotto, Unum’s AVP partner management.
Unum has been very active in supporting the American Heart Association’s efforts to raise awareness about heart disease and stroke. President Mike Simonds has led the charge to increase the number corporate fundraising efforts including growing the number of Unum Heart Walk teams. Unum has distributed prevention tips and risk factor mitigation created by the American Heart Association ensuring their employees have all the tools to maintain healthy hearts.
Lena Minervino, American Heart Association’s development director said, “Utilizing their own internal communications, Unum raised awareness about heart disease and stroke, shared prevention tips and risk factor mitigation by sharing the Association’s lifesaving messages with their employees.”
The New England Council would like to congratulate Unum for receiving this leadership award.
