University of New England panel to tackle homelessness in Maine
New England Council member, the University of New England, will be hosting a discussion panel on Maine’s homelessness issue. UNE President James Herbert will utilize his “President’s Forum,” series to focus on homelessness in Maine.
“I’m grateful that we have an opportunity to model civil discourse around this challenging topic and help our students and members of the community to better understand the problem,” said Herbert.
The panelists will include Portland city manager Danielle West, executive director of Community Housing of Maine Cullen Ryan, and vice president of mission advancement at Preble Street Ali Lovejoy. The moderator will be Courtni Jeffers, an assistant clinical professor of public health at UNE. The discussion will be open to the public and titled “Maine’s Homelessness Crisis,” on February 28 in the Biddeford Campus’ Harold Alfrond Forum, Room 283.
The New England Council commends UNE for its work in tackling the homelessness crisis in Maine.
