UMass Dartmouth, Roger Williams University partner on new accelerated engineering programs
New England Council member, UMass Dartmouth and Roger Williams University announced they are partnering to create three joint 4+1 master’s degree programs in engineering. The universities said this new partnership will allow RWU undergraduate students to earn accelerated electrical, computer, and civil engineering degrees at UMass Dartmouth.
RWU students can start taking courses toward their master’s degree in their senior year of college, meaning they can graduate with one additional year on top of the four years of undergrad for a master’s degree instead of the normal two years.
The dean of UMass Dartmouth’s College of Engineering, Jean VanderGheynst, said that collaboration strengthens the quality of engineering education in the region and “prepares the next generation of engineers to tackle tomorrow’s challenges.”
The New England Council congratulates UMass Dartmouth on its efforts to transform engineering education opportunities for students in Massachusetts.
