TD Bank Charitable Foundation awards $5.8 million to 33 Nonprofits
New England Council member, TD Bank, has given out its Charitable Foundation’s 16th annual Housing for the everyone grant program. This year’s effort from the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, awarded $5.8 million in grants to 33 nonprofits across 14 states, including Connecticut, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, and Virginia. Since its inception in 2005, the Housing for Everyone grant program has awarded more than $42 million to nonprofit organizations and helped support more than 500 affordable housing initiatives in the communities TD Bank serves.
The 2021 Housing for Everyone grant recipients in New England includes: in Massachusetts – grants totaling $400,000, going to Family Aid Boston Inc., Reducing Eviction and Poverty for Families Experiencing Homelessness, and The Community Builders Inc., Economic Equity Initiative. In Rhode Island – grants totaling $325,000 going to Providence Housing Authority, Housing Preservation Response Program, NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley and Comprehensive Resident Services & Financial Power Initiative. In Vermont – grants totaling $325,000 going to Champlain Housing Trust, Supportive Housing to Address Homelessness Initiative – awarded $150,000 Downstreet Housing & Community Development Inc., and Partnership to Expand Resident Services in Central Vermont and the Upper Valley Region.
Maine – grants totaling $250,000 going to Avesta Housing Development Corp., Capacity Management and Cultural Navigator. Connecticut – grants totaling $150,000 going to Columbus House Inc., Pathway to a Healthy Financial Future – awarded $150,000. Finally, in New Hampshire – grants totaling $150,000 will go to Crossroads House Inc., Building Bridges to Permanent Housing.
“Housing organizations have been on the front lines of both the affordability crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic. They have been called upon time and time again over the past few years to do everything from helping people find affordable homes to serving as vaccine clinics,” Paige Carlson-Heim, Director of the TD Charitable Foundation, said in a statement.
The New England Council would like to commend TD Bank’s Charitable Foundation for awarding grants to housing programs across New England and the United States.
