MANCHESTER, N.H. — A push for mental health legislation could be the next big bipartisan effort in Washington.
Sen. Maggie Hassan spoke to the New England Council on Monday, saying she’s hopeful the partisan divide between the Senate and House can be bridged.
She said she is looking for Congress to pass a bill that steps up mental health services constituents say are not being provided.
“There is a lot we can do on everything, from regulating social media, which we know has an impact, to making more mental health resources available, and I think that’s something we’ll find bipartisan support for,” Hassan said.
Hassan said federal mental health initiatives are likely to be rolled into a larger legislative package.
