Salve Regina University receives generous donation to its business and economics program

New England Council member, Salve Regina University announced that it received a $12 million donation, the latest of many gifts from the University’s most generous benefactor, The Jean and David W. Wallace Foundation. The donation is focused on creating innovative experiences for university students in Salve’s business and economics program, one of the University’s fastest-growing curriculums. In honor of the Wallace Family’s ongoing support for generations, the school is naming the department “The Jean and David W. Department of Business and Economics.”
In addition to expanding programs within the Business and Economics Department, the donation will support the strategic planning, design, and launch of the Salve Compass Program, a four-year experimental program that aims to provide students with the professional skills and knowledge to navigate today’s job market.
“This latest gift will help us strengthen the Business and Economics Department with lecture series, scale up our experiential learning, support faculty projects and stay up to date on the needs our students will fill for communities when they graduate. It positions us to provide opportunities that build real-world readiness for all,” said Salve President Kelli J. Armstrong.
The New England Council congratulates Salve Regina University on this announcement and the new opportunities for university students and faculty.
