Massport seeking to enhance Worcester Regional Airport’s operational capacities by doing this
New England Council member, Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), has proposed a development at Worcester Regional Airport that the company believes will “enhance the airport’s operational capacities and economic impact.” This plan is part of Massport’s “rebound strategy,” to bounce back following the economic turmoil that stemmed from the coronavirus pandemic.
When speaking on this development proposal, Massport Airport Director Andy David said, “We see it as a revenue opportunity, an economic opportunity, and a way to assist Worcester in bringing economic growth to the area.” According to Davis, the available land is likely to be developed for warehousing, distribution, or “potentially a research-and-development-type facility.”
The New England Council looks forward to Massachusetts Port Authority’s plans for development at Worcester Regional Airport and the likely benefit it will have on the region’s economy.
