NEC member KPMG LLP has named John Capone, previously the regional leader of the KPMG audit practice, as its new managing partner in Boston. Capone took over the role in early October, replacing NEC Board Member Darren Donovan, who will remain with the firm in its advisory practice.
Capone plans to help the Boston office grow its life science and financial services practices. He will be overseeing the return of KPMG employees to the office, although the firm will not require employees to start working in person from the South Boston office until January. Capone also stated that one of his major priorities is the retention and professional development of employees of color.
“The focus is really on our people, and enabling all of our people, especially our diverse professionals, to reach their potential,” Capone said.
