Keolis Commuter Services announces opening of new South Coast rail service

New England Council member, Keolis Commuter Services, recently announced the opening of the long-awaited South Coast rail service. Keolis is the MBTA’s operating and maintenance partner for Commuter Rail.
The new passenger rail includes a new Fall River/New Bedford Line, connecting 6 new stations, 36 miles of track, and 349 weekly trips to connect services to the South Coast communities. The new line opened on March 24th and runs on a total travel time of 90 minutes.
“Keolis is excited to partner with the MBTA in bringing service to communities along the South Coast. Passengers across the Commuter Rail system will continue to see all day service on weekdays and weekends so they can rely on the train to get where they need to go,” said Abdellah Chajai, CEO and General Manager of Keolis Commuter Services.
The New England Council congratulates Keolis on this new line that expands transportation access in the Massachusetts Bay area.
