Framingham State University Receives $40 Thousand Grant for Dual Enrollment Program
NEC member Framingham State University has received an award from the Commonwealth Dual Enrollment Program to expand access to higher education opportunities for low-income, underrepresented, and first-generation college students.
The funding will go towards opportunities for high school students to take college-level courses while earning credit towards both their college and high school degrees. The program seeks to increase the number of students who are college-ready.
“Preparing students for the rigors of college-level courses while they are still in high school eases the transition to college and makes it more likely that they will succeed,” FSU President F. Javier Cevallos said in a press release. “This is a fantastic opportunity to provide underrepresented students with greater access to early college programs.”
