Framingham State University hires new dean for College of STEM
New England Council member, Framingham State University, recently announced that beginning in July, Lauren Nolfo-Clements will become the school’s new dean of the university’s College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
In this new role, Nolfo-Clements will lead the charge in Framingham State’s STEM efforts. Nolfo-Clements is the current associate dean of administration operations and planning at the College of Arts & Sciences at Suffolk University in Boston. Before her current role, she served as chair of the biology department at Suffolk. She also has prior experience as a wildlife scientist at the Humane Society of the United States and has published multiple scholarly papers on local wildlife.
“I am really passionate about STEM-focused education and experiential learning that allows students to jump right into the career of their choice,” Nolfo-Clements said in the press release. “I’m excited to join a public institution and have the chance to work with first-generation college students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to pursue higher education.”
The New England Council would like to congratulate Nolfo-Clements on this important new role.
