Dartmouth Medical Center awarded $27.7 Million federal grant
New England Council member Dartmouth Medical Center was awarded a $27.7 million federal grant to advance research within the field of healthcare. The grant will be used to continue the work of Dartmouth’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute, which puts emphasis on assisting rural parts of Massachusetts.
According to its website, the institute’s work is devoted to “catalyze research and train scientists across the translational spectrum with a focus on rural healthcare delivery.” The grant will help the institute strengthen relationships within the region to advance the implementation of findings in a real-world setting such as hospitals.
“If we are good at what we do, if we succeed, we will develop tools, devices, diagnostics, medicine that will help people with all sorts of conditions,” said Steven L. Bernstein, DHMC’s chief research officer.
