CVS pharmacies offer birth control services in Massachusetts
New England Council member, CVS pharmacies in Massachusetts will now offer services for birth control consultations and prescription services. The new incentive to help make access to birth control simpler and faster will take effect in nearly 400 locations across Massachusetts.
“19 million women of reproductive age living in the US are in need of publicly funded contraception and live in contraceptive deserts,” stated a CVS press release.
CVS hopes that the new Massachusetts ordinance will contribute to closing the gap and provide “convenient and affordable access” to patients looking for birth control services.
The New England Council commends CVS Health on this important new initiative.
