Brown University launches new Alzheimer’s Disease study
New England Council member, Brown University, has partnered with Butler Hospital’s Memory and Aging Program to launch a new BioFinder study with hopes to discover new and accurate methods to access risk for developing Alzheimer’s disease.
The BioFinder-Brown study will look at blood tests of healthy individuals who are between the ages of 50 to 80– years– old but at higher risk for developing Alzheimer’s. This five-year study will include 200 participants operating out of Brown University and 400 participants at Lund University in Sweden.
“Developing easy-to-use blood tests will lead to early diagnosis and treatment and be a game-changer in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease,” said Dr. Stephen Salloway, the principal investigator of the BioFinder-Brown site.
The New England Council would like to congratulate Brown University for the start of the BioFinder-Brown Study.
