Boston Foundation to release first climate report on Thursday
New England Council member, the Boston Foundation will release its first-ever climate report this week. The report will show Boston’s progress in turning the city carbon-neutral by 2050.
In the report, the Foundation will release its recommendations for policymakers, community organizations, and the business community to strengthen collaboration around climate and energy solutions. Highlights in the report will include outcomes the city can achieve through programs and various projects. Additionally, the report will feature actions that the Greater Boston area can do to reduce net emissions. The foundation has applauded the committed efforts from local government and the Boston community to turn Boston into a climate-resilient city. To encourage the progression towards climate resiliency, the Boston Foundation will follow up with a new report every two years to keep track of the city’s progress.
The Boston Foundation said, “We believe that these ambitious goals require building public will and support and that those who live or work in Boston must be well-informed and share a sense of direction and destiny.”
The New England Council would like to commend the Boston Foundation for its dedication to making Boston an eco-friendly city.
