Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts expands NICU support
New England Council member, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, is expanding its support for members with high-risk pregnancies. The new initiative will also help with the assistance of premature babies.
Blue Cross will be working with Progeny Health, an independent healthcare organization specializing in maternal and infant health, to fulfill its goals. The collaboration will grant Blue Cross members access to neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) admissions.
“Our NICU care management work with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is helping to pave the way for a lifetime of health and well-being for infants as we provide support during their crucial first year of life,” said Susan Torroella, CEO, Progeny Health. “We are proud to work with such a highly recognized and community-focused health plan committed to transforming maternal and infant health. Today’s health plan members need proactive care and ongoing personalized support, and that is what we are committed to delivering.”
The new program seeks to assist the medically complex population of newborns as they traverse their first year of life. This new initiative will help members of Blue Cross receive better support that will ensure the health of first-year-born babies.
The New England Council commends Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts for this new initiative.
