Bank of America awards $200,000 grants to two Hartford nonprofits
New England Council member Bank of America awarded two grants of $200,000 to two nonprofits in Connecticut. These awards are just two of 62 grants that have been distributed in the state of Connecticut by Bank of America’s Neighborhood Builders program.
Bank of America announced that the two local non-profits, Community Partners in Action and reSET, would be the recipients of the grants. Bank of America’s philanthropic program, Neighborhood Builders program, began in 2004 and has since donated to 62 Connecticut nonprofits including 30 in the Hartford area. Following the announcement grant recipient Community Partners in Action said it will plan to use the funds to expand its reach to support clients across the city of Hartford. This included partnering with Hartford Reentry Welcome to help provide temporary housing for participants who require sober houses, room shares or assistance paying for security deposits and rent. reSET, the second grant recipient, will utilize the funds to continue its mission to support early-stage businesses with a strong focus on assisting women, BIPOC, and low-income entrepreneurs.
President of Bank of America’s local market, Joe Gianni, said, “Bank of America’s Neighborhood Builders program is unique in addressing local organizations’ short-term needs as well as long-term sustainability in order to create lasting change in communities.”
The New England Council would like to commend Bank of America for its committed efforts to strengthen its local community.
