Ameresco Announces New Smart Metering Project in Texas
NEC member Ameresco, a renewable energy company based out of Framingham, MA, announced they will be partnering with the City of Bellmead, Texas to help improve a smart metering infrastructure project.
The project includes the installation of solid-state water meters, which will allow for more accurate water consumption and potential increases in water usage. Ameresco will be replacing 3,797 water meters throughout the city – the project will start early next year.
The executive VP of Ameresco, Bob Georgeoff stated, “We’re excited to announce this partnership with the City of Bellmead as their leadership takes steps to improve the sustainability of their community…We’re honored to have been selected to lead this project and look forward to enhancing customer transparency throughout the city. Together, we’ll reduce the city’s overall operational costs and address its long-term meter reading operational needs.”
The New England Council applauds Ameresco for its efforts to create more energy-efficient infrastructure solutions.
