(NECN) – As Republican presidential candidate Gov. Rick Perry blazes through the campaign trail, he took some time to speak in New Hampshire.

The GOP hopeful attended the “Politics & Eggs” forum in Bedford, NH on Wednesday morning. He had some harsh words about President Obama’s job with the economy, and gave some insight to his financial philosophy.

“We need to quit spending money that we don’t have.” said Perry.

Gov. Perry urged the importance on simplifying the taxes and restoring the country’s “good” credit.

Perry also spoke about “The New Hampshire Advantage”, in which he said republican legislature cut spending instead of raising taxes. He noted that New Hampshire has the strongest economy in New England.

Gov. Perry has recently taken the lead in the latest Rasmussen Poll with 29% of the vote.
