NEC Hosts Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar

On April 9, 2019, The New England Council hosted a special event with Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Alex Azar. The Secretary met with a small group of senior executives from some of the region’s top healthcare businesses and organization for an in-depth discussion of HHS priorities and initiatives. Secretary Azar updated the Committee on his vision for the agency, which included addressing the opioid crisis, value-based healthcare delivery, and Medicare and Medicaid payment model reforms.  Members in attendance had the opportunity to engage in a dynamic conversation with the Secretary about these issues and how HHS policy is having an impact in the New England region.
