NEC Members meet with FERC Commissioner Richard Glick in DC
As part of the Council’s Washington Leaders’ Conference, members of the Energy & Environment Committee had the opportunity to meet with Commissioner Richard Glick, a member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on May 8, 2019. Commissioner Glick discussed the unique energy challenges the New England region faces, and provided an overview of the numerous issues being addressed by FERC. Specifically, he discussed the impact of winter weather on the natural gas supply in New England, the impact of clean energy and offshore wind development in the region, and safety concerns related to natural gas pipelines. The Commissioner also fielded a variety of questions from Committee members.
