Capitol Hill Reports

The Council launched the Capitol Hill Report virtual event series in early April 2020 to give Council members the opportunity to hear from members of the region’s Congressional delegation about federal COVID-19 relief and economic stimulus efforts.  These hour-long discussions begin with an update from the Senator or Representative about the most recent work in Congress to address the impact of the pandemic, as well as their own relief and economic stimulus priorities, followed by a Q&A session moderated by NEC President & CEO Jim Brett.  Please visit the Recent Events page to see a listing of Capitol Hill Reports to date, and upcoming programs are listed on the Upcoming Events page.

Recordings of all programs are available to members.  Please contact us for a link to any recording.

Leading in a Crisis

As the New England region and the nation grapple with the ongoing COVID-19 global public health crisis, virtually every sector of our economy has been impacted.  At the same time, businesses and organizations throughout the region and across many industries have stepped up to the plate to assist in the crisis response efforts.  To highlight the incredible leadership and innovation that these businesses and institutions have displayed, The New England Council launched a new series of virtual events called “Leading in a Crisis” in May 2020. Each virtual event will feature a panel of 2-3 leaders from a particular industry who will share how they have quickly and effectively responded to the crisis and taken action to assist in the response.

Other Virtual Programs

In addition to these two virtual event series, the Council has also held several other programs with key government, business, and political leaders:

  • May 13, 2020 – A Conversation with U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia – Request Recording
  • May 19, 2020 – Observations from Eric Rosengren, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston – Watch Here
  • May 20, 2020 – A Conversation with Charlie Cook, Editor & Publisher of the Cook Political Report – Watch Here
  • May 26, 2020 – A Conversation with Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker – Request Recording
