Issues

This work is done primarily through our various Policy Committees and Working Groups, each of which has at least one assigned NEC staff liaison.  In addition to policy advocacy efforts, these committees and working groups also serves as forums for education, networking, and information sharing.

We have six standing Policy Committees which are specific to different industry sectors in New England:

We also have several cross-sector Working Groups which focus on important issues that span a variety of sectors of the economy:

These committees and working groups include NEC members who meet regularly to identify issues of mutual concern and to develop policy positions and recommendations.  The Council works to articulate these positions to policymakers in Washington and to serve as a resource for members of Congress as they tackle issues of importance to Council members.

The committees also regularly host speakers, such as Congressional staffers and other experts on issues before the committee.  In addition, the committees offer excellent opportunities for members to network with other professionals in their industry.
