WPI Partners With Eight Manufacturing USA Institutes
Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), an NEC member, recently announced that it is joining Manufacturing USA, a public-private partnership bringing together federal agencies, industry leaders, and academics to increase the advanced manufacturing competitiveness of the U.S.
Of the 14 different Manufacturing USA institutes, WPI will be a member of eight institutes covering topics including robotics, engineered tissues, biomanufacturing, energy conservation, photonics, lightweight materials manufacturing, recycling materials, and smart sensors and digital processes.
“We’re eager to partner with industry and other universities to develop solutions and products that transform manufacturing in the United States,” said WPI’s Vice Provost of Research Bogdan Vernescu. “WPI has the ingenuity and expertise to make a significant impact nationally.”
