WPI Given $12M Unrestricted Donation

NEC Member Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI)  recently announced that it has been given a $12-million donation by an anonymous alum that is unrestricted in how the funds can be used. The gift is one of the largest in the school’s history. WPI described the donor as a “successful professional with shrewd financial planning and a man who has attended each school reunion since his 20th.”

WPI President Laurie Leshin said, “A gift of this magnitude has the potential to truly transform WPI. To entrust the university with these unrestricted funds demonstrates this donor’s confidence in WPI’s reputation and our potential for even greater positive impact on the world.”

The New England Council congratulates Worcester Polytech Institute for its gift and commends WPI’s positive reputation and commitment to its students. Read more in WPI’s press release  or in the Worcester Business Journal.
