U.S. News and World Reports Ranks Boston Children’s Hospital #1 in 8 out of 10 Categories
U.S. News and World Reports recently ranked NEC member Boston Children’s Hospital first in eight out of ten categories for best pediatric hospitals in the nation.
The annual study, first released in 2007, evaluated 183 children’s hospitals through a comprehensive survey. In the categories of orthopedics and urology, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, neurology and neurosurgery, nephrology, and gastroenterology and GI surgery, Boston Children’s ranked first. The hospital also ranked third in pulmonology and fifth and neonatology. To determine the top 50 list, U.S. New and World Reports examined hospitals patients’ survival rates, infection rates, infection prevention, best practices, and nurse staffing. Staff at the Boston Children’s Hospital attributes their holistic view on medicine to their positive review by US News.
“Our clinicians focus on family-centered care, collaborating with parents and caregivers on each patient’s journey. These rankings are evidence that great things happen when we work together,” says Sandra L. Fenwick, President and CEO of Boston Children’s.
