Travelers Institute to Host Distracted Driving Event
New England Council member the Travelers Institute will host an event called ‘Disrupting Distraction’ on May 30 at Massachusetts General Hospital. The Council is pleased to be a co-sponsor of the program, which will explore the latest data and research around distracted driving, why people do it, and the approaches to tacking this important public health issue.
In 2017 alone, more than 37,000 people died on U.S. roads. Policymakers, law enforcement, and victims’ families argue that distracted driving has been an important contributing factor. The event will feature a panel moderated by Joan Woodward, President of the Travelers Institute. The panel will feature a range of speakers, from the President of the Safe Roads Alliance to a Senior Data Scientist from TrueMotion, Inc.
The Council commends the Travelers Institute for hosting such an important event, and for its ongoing efforts to enhance drivers’ safety.
