This Sunday on DC Dialogue: Closing the Skills Gap

Tune in this Sunday morning for the latest episode of DC Dialogue.  This month, Kristy Lee, Jim Brett, and John Hailer take a look at the so-called “skills gap” and how our secondary and post-secondary educations systems can better prepare young people for success in the workforce.

In the first segment, William Symonds, Director of the Pathways to Prosperity Project at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, outlines how our education system can better provide “pathways” for success in the work force for students, and how the business community can be more involved in closing the skills gap.

In the second segment, Dr. Paula Rooney, President of Dean College and Co-Chair of the NEC’s Higher Education Committee, discusses some of the things that Dean College and other schools are doing to ensure that students complete their education and are prepared to compete for 21st century jobs opportunities.
