The Mohegan Tribe, a New England Council member, is going global. The Tribe recently announced plans to develop a multi-billion dollar resort and casino in Incheon, South Korea.
The Mohegans will work with the Incheon International Airport Corporation to develop the first-ever destination resort attached to a private airport. Like Mohegan Sun, the tribe’s signature resort in Connecticut, the new project will include a large casino, but will also offer many other unique attractions. Those attractions will include a one million square foot amusement park, an indoor rainforest, and the largest entertainment arena in Korea.
“We are pleased with the Korean Government’s decision to award us the opportunity to help fulfill their vision of driving economic development by growing tourism, creating jobs, and showcasing Korean culture via the integrated resort,” said Bobby Soper, President of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority.
The New England Council congratulates The Mohegan Tribe on its international expansion.
