Sunday on DC Dialogue: Employment for People with Disabilities

DCD on set with Kiernan Dec 2013

Tune in this Sunday morning for the latest episode of DC Dialogue on New England Cable News.  This month, Jim Brett, John Hailer, and Eileen Curran discuss the importance of providing employment opportunities to people with disabilities.

In the first segment, we’re joined by Dr. William Kiernan, Director of the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI) at UMass Boston.  Dr. Kiernan discusses the tremendous impact of employment opportunities for people with disabilities, for both the employee and the employer.  We take a look at how organizations like ICI and Best Buddies are helping to match people with disabilities with jobs.

Later in the show, Jim and John discuss the recent federal budget compromise, the latest on the implementation of the affordable care act, and the most recent unemployment numbers.
