Suffolk Construction Selected to Manage Suffolk University Project
NEC members Suffolk Construction and Suffolk University are teaming up to build a new academic building at the University. The $49 million project will create 110,000 square feet of space to be used for new classrooms, faculty offices, dining hall, and student art gallery. The building is scheduled to open in July 2015.
Suffolk Construction will first oversee the demolition of the current property occupying the space, the Metropolitan District Commission Building; they will see that several historic elements from the old building be incorporated into the new academic building. This will be the seventh joint venture between the University and construction company that will further strengthen their partnership.
It is always great to see our members working together and The New England Council looks forward to seeing the product of their collaboration when the new building is finished.
