Southwest Announces 22 New Routes For Summer 2017

NEC member Southwest Airlines recently announced the addition 22 new routes to its summer schedule.

Starting June 4, Southwest will begin offering new routes between both domestic and international cities. The new routes include San Francisco-Portland, San Diego-Salt Lake City, Oakland-Newark, Cincinnati-Baltimore/Washington, Cincinnati-Chicago, Cleveland-Atlanta, and routes between Ft. Lauderdale and various Caribbean destinations. The expansion of services will add over 40 flights to this summer season, totaling almost 10,000 more seats for consumers. Southwest expects that the additional routes will help boost the company’s overall capacity by 3.5 percent during 2017.

Dan Landson, a Southwest Airlines spokesperson, said, “We always strive to match the demand of our travelers with our service patterns.”
