Seven Hills Foundation Receives Donation to Make Pediatric Center More Accessible

NEC member Seven Hills Foundation was recently awarded $1,059 from Homefield Credit Union to purchase an American Disability Act (ADA) approved picnic table for its Pediatric Center. The table will be an addition to the outdoor space for children residing at Seven Hills Pediatric Center in Hopedale.

Picnic tables that are constructed for the general public often pose an unintentional barrier that keeps those who rely on wheelchairs from sitting at the table with ease. However,  this new table, which is approved under the ADA, will be built large enough to provide comfortable space for a person using a wheelchair. The Pediatric Center hopes that children will use the table while partaking in crafts activities with staff members or while interacting with visiting family and friends.

The NEC congratulates the Seven Hills Foundation on this addition to their outdoor space, and commends them on their efforts to make their pediatric campus more accessible.
