Mark your calendars! The New England Council’s 2017 Annual Spring Event will be held on Wednesday, May 3, and Thursday, May 4, 2017, in Washington, DC. The Annual Spring Event will be an excellent opportunity for Council members to hear from representatives of the new Administration, as well as our region’s Congressional leaders as the 115th Congress gets underway.
The Annual Spring Event will include a Federal Policy Briefing with leaders from the Trump Administration, a Capitol Hill Reception with members of the New England Congressional delegation and their staffs, and a Congressional Breakfast featuring remarks from several members of Congress. NEC staff will also be planning smaller group meetings for the Council’s various policy committees.
We have decided to hold the Annual Spring Event later in the year for several reasons. First, we believe this will allow more time for the new Administration to fill key positions and establish priorities and new initiatives. And second, it is expected that there will be a very busy legislative calendar during the early months of the year, including Cabinet confirmations, a Supreme Court confirmation, and legislation to fund the federal government as the current Continuing Resolution expires at the end of April. We believe that holding our event later will ensure a better program and stronger speaker lineup.
Please stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks, including hotel and registration information. Registration fees are $500 for NEC members and $700 for non-members.
