Rivier University Breaks Ground on Athletics Pavilion

Council member Rivier University recently broke ground on the construction of a new Athletics Pavilion at the private Catholic university’s campus in Nashua, NH. To commemorate the groundbreaking, members of Rivier’s Board of Trustees, administration, athletics coaches, and students joined Sister Paula Marie Buley, IHM, Rivier’s President, at a groundbreaking ceremony. In addition to the new pavilion, the college will also undertake renovations to their Raider Diamond.

The new Athletics Pavilion will provide stadium seating, team rooms, conference space, a training room, locker rooms, and a press box. The renovation of Raider Diamond will complete the outdoor facilities by adding more seating, a press box, team dugouts, and field lighting. Rivier’s NCAA Division III athletic programs, which include soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, and softball teams, will all benefit immensely from the new facilities. Community groups that use the University fields and fitness center will also have access to the updated venue.

Sister Paula, Rivier’s President, stated, “This is an exceptional day for Rivier and Raider Athletics. The new facilities will contribute to the growth of the University and transform the student experience in many ways, ultimately raising Rivier’s level of play in athletic competition, recruitment, and community engagement.”

The NEC congratulates Rivier on this new addition to their campus and looks forward to their continued growth.
