NEC Hosts “Leading in a Crisis: Banking” Virtual Program
On June 4, 2020, The New England Council hosted “Leading in a Crisis: Banking.” The fourth event in the Council’s newest virtual event series featured leaders from several of the region’s financial institutions who discussed the banking industry’s work to support businesses and individual customers amid the pandemic. In a discussion moderated by NEC President & CEO Jim Brett, the panelists provided New England Council members with an overview of how the region’s banking industry responded to and was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, the panel discussed the transition to online banking and new online services, the re-opening of branches, changes in how regular business is conducted, and how banks overcame the challenges related to the distribution of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans.
