NRG Launches Renewable Select to Simplify Energy Procurement for Businesses

NEC member NRG recently launched Renewable Select, a plan that simplifies the process of traditional energy procurement to make it easier for businesses to choose renewable energy. As customers of NRG continue to demand renewable energy at a cost that is less than or equal to the price of purchasing power from the electricity grid, Renewable Select is crucial in ensuring that the renewable energy procurement process is cost competitive and easy.

With Renewable Select, NRG customers are not only presented with a standard, straightforward contract, but they also do not have to sign a power purchase agreement (PPA). Further simplifying the process, no large energy commitment is required – the customer can procure exactly as much renewable energy as they need. The Renewable Select plan works to break down barriers that typically hinder the process of wind and solar energy procurement, such as unreasonable contract lengths, building logistics, and complex financial transactions.

The NEC commends NRG on their commitment to enhancing energy choice, and congratulates them on this exciting new plan.
