The New England Council was proud to partner with longtime member Northeastern University for “Innovation Imperative: Enhancing the Talent Pipeline.” The event, held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Boston, featured the release of a new national survey of U.S. business leaders about the pipeline of talent produced by American colleges and universities. WGBH also co-sponsored the event.
The new survey – the third in a series by the university—presents the views of C-suite executives, with particular focus on global competitiveness, the employee skills gap, employer workforce investments, and opportunities for policy reform. At a time of great debate over the value of college degree, Northeastern’s research reveals that U.S. business leaders are concerned about the pipeline of talent produced by American colleges and universities. While most executives express support for our higher education system, they also believe the U.S. is falling behind global competitors and inadequately preparing graduates to succeed in the 21st century workforce.
Visit Northeastern’s website for more details on the survey, including a summary of key findings, full results, and a presentation of the findings.
