United Way operates in Eastern Massachusetts, Southeastern New Hampshire and Maine to mobilize government, individuals, businesses, and non-profits to make a lasting change in their communities. Education is a key focus of United Way and the organization is engaged in a number of partnerships including: Brain Building in Progress with the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care to promote the importance of early childhood development; Thrive in 5 with the City of Boston to ensure children are ready for Kindergarten; and The State Early Learning Alliance, which brings together agencies to share best practices and save on purchasing.
United Way promotes youth leadership through programs that support young social entrepreneurs, help lower the drop-out rate among immigrant populations, increase reading proficiency, and provide students with STEM educational experiences.
United Way also works to promote financial security for families through financial stability centers, free tax preparation, the Financial Empowerment Learning Institute, and the Family Fund.
The New England is proud to welcome the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley and looks forward to their involvement in our activities.
