New England Council Statement on the Verdict in the Derek Chauvin Trial

On April 20, 2021, The New England Council issued the following statement regarding the verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial:

“We are grateful to the jury for holding Derek Chauvin accountable for the tragic death of George Floyd. While there is still much work to be done, we hope that today’s verdict will help bring our nation one step closer to unity and healing. We stand committed to working toward a more equitable and just society, and partnering with allies throughout the region to combat racism and advance social justice.”
