The Chinese government has given New England students the opportunity to study at Chinese universities with scholarships that covers tuition, fees, and accommodations.

The six students chosen from a competitive pool of applicants will take part in both short-term and long-term study under the scholarships. Four of the six students will study in China short-term, in programs focused on Chinese Language and International Trade, while the two other students will enroll in master’s degree programs in higher education and business administration, pursuing a long-term stay. The awardees officially began their studies at the beginning of September.

Delma Tavares, a recipient of the Master’s Degree Scholarship, said, “It is amazing that China is giving students from all over the world the opportunity to come together and experience multicultural exchanges while pursuing their education. I am excited to see how this experience will shape my views, as well as my personal and professional development.”

The NEC commends the New England Board of Higher Education on their commitment to study abroad opportunities and congratulates them on this partnership with the Chinese Government.
