New England Council member New Balance opened the doors to their new headquarters on September 17th. The new facility is part of the new Boston Landing campus, which will also include a new practice facility for the Boston Bruins, and is located on the border of Allston and Brighton.
The New Balance headquarters is 25,000 square-feet and includes office space that 700 employees have already moved into, as well as large portions of open space dedicated to collaborating. The building is expected to receive at least a silver level Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification to acknowledge the green design and construction. As a part of their move, New Balance is also planning on adding about 100 new corporate positions. In addition, in honor of the grand opening of the new office space, the New Balance Foundation donated $3 million to the West End House Boys & Girls Club, which is located just blocks from the facility.
“This building exemplifies the company’s long held values and culture as well as its commitment to the local community”, said Rob DeMartini, New Balance President & CEO. “We are pleased to move into our new headquarters, a space where our associates can thrive and the brand can continue to grow and fulfill its promise to push forward and deliver the best in innovative footwear and apparel.”
The New England Council congratulates New Balance on their new headquarters and wishes them success in their move.
