NEC Weighs in on Senate Tax Reform

Council Outlines Key Concerns Related to Financial Services, Healthcare, and Higher Education Sectors

As the U.S. Senate considered comprehensive legislation to update the nation’s tax code, The New England Council weighed in with the New England Senate delegation to highlight some concerns with the proposal.  Specifically, the Council shared with our region’s Senators some of the concerns that we have heard from our members in three key sectors: Financial Services, Healthcare and Higher Education.

On November 29, the Council sent a letter to the Senators, along with several documents that detail the concerns in each issue area:

Earlier this year, before either the House or the Senate released any detailed proposals for tax reform, the Council released its “Principles for Effective Tax Reform,” which were shared with the entire New England delegation as well as the Administration.
