NEC to Launch Online “Partnerships for the Talent Pipeline” Directory
The New England Council is seeking submissions for our “Partnerships for the Talent Pipeline: Directory of New England Education & Industry Partnerships.” First published in 2016, with several updated editions in recent years, the directory highlights examples of successful models used in New England to connect students and employers in order to strengthen our regional workforce and ensure career success.
The Council is working on transitioning this resource to a digital, online format that will be easier to navigate and filter. We are now seeking submissions from our members – both educational institutions and employers – to include in this new online directory, which will be launched later this year. Once the new online directory is active, we can take new submissions and update the directory on an ongoing basis.
More about the Directory
The purpose of the directory is to highlight programs where educational institutions and employers partner students with additional skills, training, knowledge or access to industry and networks. The Council hopes that this directory will continue to be a useful resource to policymakers and other stakeholders, and will encourage employers and educational institutions to continue to pursue and expand partnership initiatives that develop our region’s talent pipeline.
Council members are invited to share information on various partnership programs, including experiential learning opportunities (i.e. internships, apprenticeships), mentoring programs, and curriculum development and coordination initiatives.
In addition to partnerships that involve our members in the higher education community, we are also interested in partnerships that involve K-12 educational institutions, recognizing that many employers are engaging with students at an earlier stage in their education.
Once the new online directory is launched, it will be available online for our entire membership, as well as the New England Congressional delegation and other policymakers and stakeholders. We hope that the directory will continue to be a useful resource and will encourage employers and educational institutions to continue to pursue and expand partnership initiatives that develop our region’s talent pipeline.
Please note that submissions are due by August 31, 2021, to be included in the launch and we welcome multiple submissions from one organization.
