NEC To Host Four-Part “Investing in Infrastructure” Series
Virtual Programs will Explore Region’s Key Challenges and Economic Benefits of Federal Investment
As Congress considers comprehensive legislation to make billions of dollars in investments in our nation’s infrastructure and spur economic growth, The New England Council will host a series of virtual programs in the spring and early summer of 2021 called “Investing in Infrastructure.” The series of four panel discussions will explore the key infrastructure challenges facing the New England region, highlight the types of federal investment needed to address these challenges, and consider how such infrastructure investments would have an overall positive impact on the New England economy.
Each panel program will feature representatives of NEC member organizations who will discuss the key challenges and infrastructure needs they see for the New England region. Each panel will focus on a different type of infrastructure – transportation, energy, and innovation, with a fourth panel focused on financing options for a potential multi-trillion-dollar investment package.
The first program in the series, “Investing in Infrastructure: Transportation,” will take place on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. Steve Silveira, Senior Vice President at ML Strategies and chair of the NEC Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, will moderate the discussion, featuring the following panelists:
Over the next two months, the Council will host three additional programs in this series:
Investing in Infrastructure: Energy
Investing in Infrastructure: Innovation
Investing in Infrastructure: Financing Options
Stay tuned for announcements of dates for the remaining programs in the near future. If you have questions about this series, or the Council’s Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, please contact Peter Phipps.
