NEC to Host Energy Discussion with ISO-New England CEO

On Wednesday, September 28, 2016, The New England Council will host a Regional Energy Discussion with  Gordon van Welie, President and Chief Executive Officer of ISO New England, the region’s electric grid operator. The event will feature remarks from Mr. van Welie, who will provide an overview of some of the key challenges for the region, and  will also look ahead to the region’s energy needs in the near future.

Following his remarks, former Boston Globe and NECN business reporter Peter Howe, now Senior Advisor at Denterlein Worldwide, will moderate a discussion with Mr. van Welie about the region’s unique energy needs and challenges, and discuss potential solutions and options for policymakers and other stakeholders. The event will conclude with an opportunity for audience members to ask questions based on the afternoon’s discussion.

The forum will be held at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH.  A buffet lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., and the program will run from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.
